Why Pilgrimage?
Three times a year — on Passover, Shavuot, and Sukkot — the entire people of Israel would ascend to Jerusalem. Not as tourists, but as one nation gathering in the heart of the Jewish world. The pilgrimage was the greatest unifying experience of the people: rich and poor, from all tribes and all corners, together in one city.
We believe this longing is still alive today. This initiative gives it a home.
What Do We Do?
- National map of pilgrims: Every family that pledges "We are ascending too" joins the national counter and the counter of their town.
- A movement of communities: Synagogues, institutions, and communities join together, track their progress, and invite more families.
- Practical help for pilgrims: Ahead of the festival, we will gather practical information — transportation, meeting points, children's activities, and everything a family needs to ascend joyfully.
Who Are We?
The Olei HaRegalim non-profit is an independent public initiative. We are not a government body, we are non-partisan, and we do not charge a fee. The project was built by volunteers who believe that Jerusalem belongs to the entire people of Israel — and everyone belongs in it.
